Plantanicals®

Plantanicals® is a haircare brand that was conceptualized based on the idea for the name. My goal for this brand was to create a fully plant-based, sustainable, and inclusive line of hair products, while making the claims and meaning of the name clear on the packaging. For its latest extension of products, Plantanicals® boasts brightly colored packaging made from 100% Post Consumer Recycled, soft-touch material. The brand contains multiple sets of shampoos and conditioners, each with different and unique ingredient combinations and each formulated to help treat or maintain a hair type or concern. I began work on this brand in 2019 by conceptualizing the branding and identity and figuring out the component shape and style almost immediately after. Working with production and development teams, I put together a mix of well research, plant-derived extracts that I believed would set the brand apart. Since its inception, Plantanicals® has gained traction online as a direct to consumer beauty line and more recently has been on the radar of major retailers in the United States. The holistic approach I took with designing this haircare brand has allowed it to stand out in clean-beauty conversations and to be a major contender in eco-friendly and sustainable efforts that many, if not all, customers and buyers alike, are looking for.
